Rodrigo Ampudia said it would be great to take the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series presented by GEICO south of the border and put on a race in Baja California, for several reasons.
"I'd really like to make a career out of driving Pro Buggy or moving up next year," said Mason, who is third in the Pro Buggy standings with three points races remaining in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series presented by GEICO. "I think that's definitely possible. I just need to do as well as I possibly can and attract the big sponsors.
Myan Spaccarelli said that when he was working full-time to build his business he did so hoping "that at some point in time I'd have the opportunity to go racing full-time."
John Fitzgerald is flying high these days, although not necessarily by choice.
Fitzgerald, who this year moved up to the Pro Buggy division of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series after winning the 2012 Limited Buggy championship, used to drive from his home in Omaha, Nebraska, to the series' West Coast venues. But last year, because of the continuing high price of gasoline, he started commuting by air.
There's no reason to ask Jerry Daugherty what he does in his spare time because he doesn't have any.
A Riverton, Utah, resident who races in the Pro 4 class of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series presented by GEICO, Daugherty owns the Live Fast Play Dirty Motorsports team that also fields a Pro Lite truck for son Aaron Daugherty, owns and operates a cement contracting business, is the director of the Lucas Oil Regional off-road series in Utah and is active in community affairs.
It's not easy to honor a family tradition and still be different than those who started it, but Sterling Cling has found a way. He used to watch his father Doug and older brother Landon race and "wanted to follow in their path so I joined in, too."
