LAKE FOREST, CA – Carl Renezeder kicks off his fifteenth season of professional short-course racing this weekend, March 15-17, at the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series event at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona. He's conquered all the challenges thrown at him over the years - over 100 short-course wins; two championships in two pro categories in one season; multiple Challenge Cup titles; the list goes on and on - and during this past off-season, he self-imposed one more: bring his championship total to ten.
"This season will be about consistently finishing, and challenging for wins every round," commented Renezeder recently. "We're focused on eliminating all of the small mistakes and on avoiding all of the carnage on the track. All I need is the opportunity to challenge for the win in the closing laps of each race, and the rest should fall into place."
Renezeder will again compete in the Pro-2 and Pro-4 classes, where he has combined for 104 career wins - 47 in Pro-2 and 57 in Pro-4. And with eight short-course championship titles to his name, he has a shot at accomplishing his goal of ten titles this season. It's a tall task, but definitely within his reach.
You can watch it all unfold either in person at each of the eight race weekends, or you can follow it on television via CBS, CBS Sports Network, SPEED Channel MavTV and NBC Sports Network. Check the LOORRS website: www.lucasoiloffroad.com for specific days and times.
