Lake Forest, California (August 28, 2015) - Wild West Motor Sports Park, in Sparks Nevada is a unique track with lots of elevation changes and top speeds. Renezeder and team had a wild time there last weekend at the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing series rounds 13 and 14.
Both Trucks practiced and qualified fast and the team felt confident about their ability to battle. The Pro-4 race on Saturday started out great but at lap 12 the engine started to tighten up, ending the battle sooner than Renezeder wanted to. Pro-2 fared better, Renezeder started in the second row but turn one caused a lot of chaos, spinning Renezeder to dead last place after the third re-start. In typical Renezeder style he battled his way back to the front, ending with a respectable fifth place finish.
The Pro-4 race on Sunday was the best finish of the weekend and the most exciting battle. Renezeder and #99 showed the fans a good time, with Renezeder in the lead most of the race. With less than two laps to go, a slight engine misfire let #99 catch up and pass. Renezeder crossed the finish line in 2nd place. Pro 2 proved to be exciting as well, but not for the same reasons. Possibly due to a very wet track, the number 2 truck landed on Renezeder's right rear, crashing both drivers out of the race at lap 11.
"It's part of racing," said Renezeder, " you have to take the good with the bad, learn from it, come back, dust yourself off and hammer down the next time."
Renezeder and the team head to Vegas for the next Lucas Oil Off Road Race on Sept 18-19, 2015. For info check out: http://www.lucasoiloffroad.xyz/
