Chandler, AZ (February 6, 2015) - After being a part of the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series in CA, AZ and UT for several years, the SR1 class will be making a return for one weekend to LOORRS as a special exhibition race for Rounds 1 and 2, to be held at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park on March 20-21st. These two exhibition rounds will take place just before opening ceremonies, and will give LOORRS fans a taste of what the SR1 class has to offer, as well as what they can expect at the Regional Series races all season long.
In addition, these two exhibition rounds will be scored as Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2015 SR1 Championship Series, ensuring the largest turnout possible for the thousands of fans that will be in attendance.
"Having the chance to be a part of the big series is something that a lot of current SR1 racers have wanted for a long time,” says Corry Weller, a current SR1 class champion and wife of class founder, Jason Weller. “While the SR1 class belongs at the Regional level and has been very successful there, it’s great that we are being given the chance to race in the LOORRS Series for a weekend and showcase a Regional Series class to those fans who may not have been to a Lucas Oil Regional race yet. It’s also a great opportunity for our SR1 racers to experience racing in the “pro series”, and be a part of something as huge as the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series is in the off-road industry."
